Wireless IR Remote Receiver for the Nakamichi ST-7 (ST-70, ST-7E) AM/FM Tuner
SOLD OUT
I've
used up all the parts for this remote. I will not be making any more of these,
but, that's a good thing. There is a new version coming! Check out the 2nd
generation Wireless Remote Receiver for the Nakamichi ST-7!

This unit is very similar to my Nak Tape Deck IR Remote Receiver, but, the interface needed to be changed to interface to the ST-7's DIN-7 remote jack. This remote allows the following functions to be controlled remotely. Memory 1-8, Shift9-16, Seek up, Seek down and AM/FM. The Memory 1-8 buttons are mapped to the remotes number buttons "1" - "8", Shift9-16 is mapped to the "0" number button. Pressing it the first time will activate Shift and pressing it again will deactivate it. Seek up and down are mapped to Channel Up and Down. AM/FM is mapped to TV/Video, pressing it the first time switches to AM, pressing it again will switch to FM.

The unit is about 2.6" by 2.6" by 1.1" tall.

The back of the unit has a single cable that connects to the remote jack on the Nakamichi ST-7. Power for the receiver is drawn from the ST-7, but, the tuner needs to be opened and a resistor jumpered over with a special wire with hooks on the ends. This is completely reverseable. ST-7 Mod web page
The power LED will light when the unit is powered. When the unit receives an IR signal that matches the device code selected then the LED will blink off for a half second. This LED will blink off even if the button is not supported. This aids in verifying that the remote is configured properly.
Device Select jumpers - The two jumpers select the Sony IR device code that the unit response to. Go here for my tested remote page. <Compatible Remotes ST-7>
